Just a note to hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.
The new snow should help any late season hunting being done. Good luck to all still hunting.

Well the 2010 regular gun deer ans muzzle loader seasons are now in the books. Hopefully yours was successful. Deer have been coming in at a slower pace now that the seasons are over, but business is still going strong. Now is the time to reflect on this years season and get all the equipment cleaned up and stowed away. Hopefully everyone had a chance to tell their stories and get the younger generation introduced to hunting and the outdoors.
Oh, by the was, there is a herd reduction hunt starting today thru Sunday, so be careful in the woods.

Well it is a week before WI. gun deer season starts, so are you ready? The rut seems to be in full swing. My husband shot a nice 10 pointer on Friday. I'm busier then ever. I'm running ahead of last year at this time. Most hunters are enjoying the time in the woods. The weather this weekend isn't nice but time in the woods beat time at work. Have a great deer season.

Well bear season is over and they are still coming in. The deer are also coming in. We at Stone Wall Taxidermy are very busy. This weekend is herd reduction in our area. After that the rut should start being more prevalent. Good luck to all and remember if you shot your buck of a life time, take care of it quickly, if you plan on getting it mounted, so there is no chance of anything going wrong with the hide. Good luck this season.

Well bear season is close to starting it third week and deer is in it's first week. I have all ready had both bear and deer come in. If things continue it looks like hunters are going to have a banner year. I am limiting the number of bears I am taking this year and filling up fast. I'm lleaving this as a short message as I need to get back to work. Have a safe hunting season.

Just a short note today.
Well it is 11 days to the opening of bear season and three weeks until bow season for deer opens. Hopefully you are getting ready or are set to go. I have been busy trying to catch up.
This guy has been coming up to the house for a while now. Well, good luck to all.

Wow, were has the time gone. We are all ready into August and I see I didn't even post in July. This summer is going by fast. Only 5 weeks until the start of bear season. Most or all should have started any baiting by now. I have heard of a few nice ones that are hitting local baits. We are still busy here at Stone Wall Taxidermy. Things have gotten a little more hectic here due to the addition of a new puppy. Raven, has kept us on our toes. That is about it for now.

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

It has been a while since my last post. I have been busy with work. I still have had deer come in. It seems as I get caught up more comes in. That is a good thing for my taxidermy business. It is hard to believe that tomorrow is all ready July. It won't be long ans bear season will be upon us. The deer have been growing their horn nicely in our area. Here is two we have gotten on our trail cameras.
Enjoy your Forth of July weekend.

Well we just got some much needed rain here in the Wittenberg, WI area. The does are starting to drop their fawns and bucks are growing antlers. I have been very busy with the taxidermy work, though it has slowed some due some health issues. I should be back to full speed ahead in the next couple of weeks. So those waiting, thanks for your patience.
Would like to thank all our veterans on this Memorial Day.

It has been a while since my last post. I have been very busy trying to catch up on all the work. I was up almost 40% on deer shoulder mounts this past year. At one point I had to stop taking in items due to no freezer space available.
So I hope everyone is enjoying our nice weather. The grass here is getting to the point that we will have to start cutting it. That is about it for this post.
Turkey season is upon us here in Wisconsin, but, again like last year I will not be doing any full mount turkeys. I will only be doing fan mounts.

Thanks to all who have been making my business a success here in central WI.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Well we are getting close to the middle of March and Mother Nature is giving use some great weather. Please remember that the deer management zone meeting are starting this week. Please go out and express your views (positive or negative). Turkey season is just around the corner. Just so everyone knows I will not be doing full mount turkeys again this year. I'm booked up right now and don't think I will catch up until this fall. Thanks to those how have been patient with us here at Stone Wall Taxidermy.

Well it has been a while since my last post. I have been very busy trying to get caught up. I have been basically working 7 days a week on deer, bear, fish, and assorted rugs. I can't believe that my taxidermy business is going so well. I'm going to keep this a short post so I can go to work.

Friday, January 15, 2010

It's been a while since my last post, but I have been very busy with all the taxidermy work I have gotten in this past year. It has been in creditable 2009 and 2010 is starting just as fast as 2009 ended. I'm still getting deer in. I had stopped taking in work due to lack of freezer space, but I have since gotten things completed and freed up some space. So it is going to be a very busy year with not a lot of time off. That is all for now.
